It seems solar heating is the energy source of the future. As it is a renewable energy source, not only is it a great way to save money but also the planet. Using the sun’s radiation, solar panels generate heat to provide hot water to the home.
Solar Panels Can Generate Up to 60% of Homes Hot Water
Customers who have fitted solar heating panels in their home have benefitted from reduced CO2 emissions on an average domestic system and from cuts on heating bills. Any homeowner who has solar panels fitted in their home will also benefit from the solar panel grants.
Any solar panels fitted in the home can be easily integrated with other heating systems so that any additional heating requirements during the winter can be met. During summer, customers can expect as much as 100% of their heating to be generated through solar panels, whilst in the winter around 30% off heating required can be provided and the rest through a boiler or immersion heater.
The Feed-In Tariff has proven popular, particularly since the announcement that the higher tariff will be cut at the beginning of March this year. Any homeowner wishing to benefit from 43.4p per kilowatt as it currently stands must have their panels installed by 3rd March. After this time, the rate will fall to 21p per kilowatt and thus, less money will be earned through solar panels installations.
